Versatile and multipurpose

Since its introduction in 1987, the Axioskop has scored resounding success on the market. Then far ahead of its time, it has now become the standard in microscopy. Why? The SI design (System Integration) permits an extremely wide range of applications, especially in fluorescence microscopy. The Axioskop offers practically unparalleled brightness for fluorescence images, a vital property for such modern techniques as FISH and immunofluorescence. The space between the infinity-corrected objectives and the tube (telecentric space) can be used very flexibly. For fluorescence, up to 4 different fluorochromes can be used for single or multiple excitation. This space can also be utilized for the magnification changer 1x / 1.25x / 1.6x.
Together with the extensive range of ICS optics (infinity optics), all of the techniques of light microscopy are available (brightfield, darkfield, phase contrast, interference contrast).

Your hands and lower arms rest comfortably on the table and can effortlessly reach the focusing and stage drives. The condenser, and beneath it the luminous field diaphragm, lie within easy reach. The filter magazine and the knob for brightness adjustment are positioned in close proximity to the focusing drive. If you are sitting comfortably at the table, you will automatically also be sitting comfortably at the microscope and can work for many hours with minimum fatigue. The tube is positioned at the right viewing height and has a comfortable tilt of 30º. The 20 mm field of view ensures that you are provided with a lot of information at a single glance. The controls for incident light illumination are accessible from both sides. Zeiss endeavors to make your workstation as comfortable as possible at all times, and we will continue to introduce improvements on an ongoing basis in the future
