A new microhardness tester
The new MHT-10 microhardness tester is now available in addition to the MHT-4 microhardness tester. The main difference between the two instruments lies in their testing force ranges: that of the MHT-10 has been extended to 0.5 to 400 p (0.005 to 4 N), compared to 0.5 to 200 p (0.005 to 2 N) with the MHT-4.
The MHT-10 and the MHT-4 are suitable for both the
Axiotech, Axioplan, Axiophot and Axiovert microscopes and for the new microscopes
Axiolab Pol,
Axioplan 2 /-phot 2 and
Axiovert 100 A. The Vickers and Knopp techniques are both possible. The measurement of the indentation diagonals can be performed with a TV micrometer or a digital measuring eyepiece with an interface. The lengths of the indentation diagonals and the microhardness are displayed automatically. Either a digital measuring eyepiece or an eyepiece micrometer can be used for measurement. The measured values are entered by hand via the keyboard and the microhardness is then automatically displayed.
New features are the improved centering principle, the interface between the sensor and the cable and the exchangeable diamond tip which allows the implementation of the Vickers or Knopp techniques with a sensor. This not only ensures simplified evaluation with a digital measuring eyepiece or eyepiece micrometer, but also reduces costs while guaranteeing the full spectrum of applications.
The fields of application include metallography, precision engineering, electroplating technology, electronics, dental technology. the geo-sciences and materials testing and research.
