FCS has proved to be a powerful tool capable or characterizing the hybridization of nucleic acids in solution rapidly without the need for separation of the non-bound fraction. At nanomolar concentrations it is possible to quantitate the stoichiometry, kinetics and thermodynamics of the interactions.
